Montessori Approaches

Infants

At Casa di Bambini, our Infant Montessori Program (ages 6 weeks – 18 months) provides a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment where babies feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore. Rooted in Montessori principles, our program focuses on fostering independence, trust, and early sensory and motor development.

We create a calm and responsive setting, following each infant’s individual rhythm for eating, sleeping, and exploring. The carefully prepared environment supports gross and fine motor development, language acquisition, and early social-emotional bonding. Infants engage in gentle sensory experiences, movement activities, and practical life interactions, allowing them to build confidence and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Responsive Care & Emotional Growth

We believe in respectful caregiving, where infants are active participants in their daily routines. Through consistent, loving interactions, we support each child’s emotional growth, helping them develop secure attachments, self-awareness, and early communication skills. Our caregivers practice responsive language, baby sign language, and gentle guidance to nurture self-expression and emotional security.

Movement & Independence

In our Montessori infant environment, freedom of movement is key. Instead of traditional cribs, we use floor beds to encourage natural movement and autonomy. Our space is designed with low shelves, soft climbing structures, and age-appropriate materials, allowing infants to explore safely at their own pace.

Through sensory-rich activities, hands-on exploration, and individualized care, our Infant Montessori Program lays the foundation for independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Toddlers

At Casa di Bambini, our Toddler Montessori Program (ages 18 months – 3 years) is designed to foster independence, confidence, and a love for learning in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment. Guided by Montessori principles, our carefully prepared classroom encourages hands-on exploration, movement, and self-discovery.

We create a structured yet flexible setting where toddlers develop essential life skills, refine motor coordination, and build early language and social skills. We place a strong emphasis on emotional growth, helping children identify and express their feelings, develop self-regulation, and cultivate empathy through grace and courtesy lessons, peaceful conflict resolution, and consistent routines.

In addition, our program supports toilet learning in a respectful, child-led manner. We work in partnership with families to encourage independence in toileting, following each child’s readiness and natural progression in a supportive and encouraging way.

Through practical life activities, sensorial experiences, and individualized lessons, children gain confidence, responsibility, and a deep sense of belonging in their learning community. With a strong focus on social-emotional development, self-care, and independence, our program provides a safe, engaging, and joyful foundation for lifelong learning.

Preschool

At Casa di Bambini, our Preschool Montessori Program (ages 3 – 4 years) provides a rich, hands-on learning environment where children develop independence, critical thinking, and a deep love for learning. Rooted in Montessori philosophy, our mixed-age classroom allows children to learn at their own pace while fostering collaboration, leadership, and respect for others.

We guide children through a carefully prepared environment that nurtures growth in practical life, sensorial exploration, mathematics, language, and cultural studies. Through self-directed learning and purposeful activities, children develop problem-solving skills, fine motor coordination, and early literacy and numeracy.

We place a strong emphasis on social-emotional development, helping children build confidence, emotional intelligence, and peaceful conflict resolution skills. Our program encourages self-expression, empathy, and responsibility, supporting each child’s journey toward independence.

The prepared environment fosters curiosity, concentration, and a natural sense of order, preparing children not just for academic success but for lifelong learning and adaptability.

Pre-K

Pre-K Montessori Program at Casa di Bambini

At Casa di Bambini, our Pre-K Montessori Program (ages 4 – 6 years) is designed to prepare children for the transition to elementary education while fostering a deep love for learning, independence, and critical thinking. Rooted in Montessori philosophy, our program provides a hands-on, child-centered environment where children gain confidence, problem-solving skills, and academic readiness at their own pace.

Comprehensive Montessori Curriculum

Our certified Montessori educators guide children through a well-rounded curriculum that includes:
✅ Practical Life – Strengthening independence, fine motor skills, and responsibility through real-life tasks.
✅ Sensorial Exploration – Refining sensory perception and cognitive development through hands-on materials.
✅ Mathematics – Developing a deep understanding of numbers, patterns, and problem-solving.
✅ Language & Literacy – Building strong pre-reading and writing skills through phonics, storytelling, and early composition.
✅ Cultural & Science Studies – Exploring geography, history, nature, and scientific concepts through discovery-based learning.

Social-Emotional & Leadership Development

In our mixed-age classroom, Pre-K students take on leadership roles, helping younger peers while developing patience, empathy, and communication skills. Through peace education, conflict resolution, and mindfulness practices, children learn to manage emotions, collaborate with others, and build confidence in their abilities.

Enrichment & Outdoor Learning

Our Pre-K program includes music, art, movement, and cultural studies to encourage creativity and self-expression. Daily outdoor learning experiences, including gardening, nature walks, and gross motor activities, allow children to explore, problem-solve, and connect with the natural world.

By the end of the Pre-K Montessori experience, children are not only academically prepared but also socially and emotionally equipped for a smooth transition to elementary education. Our goal is to cultivate a lifelong love for learning, independence, and adaptability in every child.
